Cicadas are by far my favorite insect. They’re songs vary across species, but the unmistakable obnoxious sound of the minmin-zemi is my favorite!

This piece was an exercise in working small and finding elegant solutions for movement mechanisms at this scale. The bolo tie was a choice based on ease of use for the wing mechanism, but I’m happy to see how much it complements the design.
