Tsuru is a renewal of memory, craft, and joy. The origami crane and the sonobe unit ball, which my box is modeled after, were some of the first origami folds my grandmother taught me when I was six. When I revisited her as a teenager, she had joined a bird-carving club and taught me how to use all her traditional Japanese carving tools, even gifting me a set of my own.

My box is a tribute to what she shared with me, the joy it brought, and the love for craft it continues to inspire. Tsuru is my way of sharing with her a little bit of the magic and awe she shared with me.
